Trauma Healing and Weight Loss 

Does releasing your past life really help you to lose weight?

Have you been struggling with your weight if it has been weight gain or weight loss?

Possibly, even chronic disease? If so this is going to be the blog post for you because we are going to address trauma healing helps with weight loss after all that is how I lost 67 pounds mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually: all throughout the quarantine. 



Let’s go ahead and begin by saying everyone’s trauma is completely different and this is not a place to put down in the comments what happened to you but by telling me how you’re going to overcome what happened to you.

I strongly believe life is just so beautiful that we have to create a new one each and every single day but it is only until we truly heal ourselves from the trauma we can step forward into our new light.

I had a LOT of trauma; from constantly being bullied in middle school to an incident where someone walked in on me changing in front of the girls than the girls telling all the boys someone saw me naked when I was in third grade (this led to issues creating female friendships), to being completely ignored in my sorority, to being sexually traumatized when I was a little girl, then later as an adult. 


The list just grows and if I just sit here and write all of them out-I would never be happy. 

I had some very cruel moments in my life but if I just stayed there I would have never even experienced the good in my life from traveling the world, to eating stingrays in the middle of nowhere or creating a new me who speaks, and thinks, and acts differently.

How to Look at Trauma 


I want you to look at trauma, the same way a cow is about to be slaughtered in America: they are in containers trapped and stressed beyond belief that they are filled with tension that makes them tight that they constantly lash out aka moo.

Now, I want you to think about a wagyu living in Japan or Australia-these very specific cows are killed in a humane way that is in the complete opposite way of the American cattle. 

They are allowed to roam free-range; eating organic grass that is premium grade and truly enjoying life. Even before they are killed they receive massages and watch Netflix.



The meat is so lean and so tasty; they charge a premium for it. That is your body and instead of a cow you’re a human.



You think that doing fad diets and listening to government officials are going to work


These government officials know policy; everyone is a number without emotions they never stepped foot in an Anthropology class nor apply it to creating policy.


The health and wellness industry is a TRILLION dollar industry. Do you know what that means? 


It means that there is always another fad that is going to shove something down your throat to get your body looking good but unless you know who you are, what you stand for, what your purpose is, and your values you’re going to do things in a completely wrong fashion to get what you need to be.


You have to ask yourself, where did this trauma come from and where did it begin? How can I move forward into creating a new life for myself where I can actually laugh at this trauma to keep growing to where I need to be?

The best thing about trauma is that it doesn’t own you-you own it once you establish you want to grow from the situation and this is when you start realizing the awareness comes in. 

Sexual Trauma, Body Dysmorphia, and Weight Gain 

The thing as children we are not empowered in what we can do with our minds and bodies. We as a society are only now waking up to what we can achieve as powerful creators and manifestors.

What suppressing our children (even adults) leads to us mentally degrading ourselvs and our cabilities in what we can do. When I speak about this I mean the serious arguments not the petty ones either that every common family has; like washing dishes, laundry etc.




Let’s address body dysmorphia.




Body dysmorphia comes from two avenues-you not being healthy and you trying to fit into society. I remember when I was in my sorority; everyone was blonde and white and that was the brand they wanted to promote and when they told me that I wasn’t an accurate representation of their brand. 




I was left shell shock because THEY invited me to MEET quota. 




You from this point in your life will never let anyone especially the fake standard of beauty,  (that btw they all have low self esteem) degrade you.




You are responsible for you-and many of your thoughts are simply not true; you’re beautiful just the way you are but ask yourself are you precious mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually? 





The Struggle of Fitting In and Accepting Your Personality and Weight Gain




What other people think about you is none of your business. I noticed that my before and after pictures causes people to be uncomfortable and even the topic of weight gain because in this society; we don’t really address the topic of mental and emotional wellness.




What happens when you try to fit into something that was clearly not made for you? (Kim Kardahsian-cough cough) LINK OUT.




It pops and you cannot wear it. It is just like you not wearing a friend tribe-it is the same analogy; so why batter trying to fit in? When you should focus on being healthy? 




Haven’t you noticed everytime you try to fit in; people are repealed by you. It is because you NEED validation and approval.




When you come from a place of self validation and self love things change for the better and you can then progress to move forward to actually live a life that not only looks good but feels good.




The Steps I Took to Release the Weight




Now that you have learned from me and the pasts that I had to throw away. These are some of the steps that I had to take to release the trauma.

Journaling Everyday

Many people think that journaling is for kids and is juvenile it is not; actually in the jail/ prison cells they suggest that inmates journal to release the anger and frustration and allows you to see things more clearly. 


Try using the journal prompts that were listen within this blog post and you can actually shop around to find your perfect journal. 


We suggest these from Erin Condren-they are the BEST!


Drink Water Everyday

Make sure to drink water instead of soda-the only soda that I drink when I want something sweet is Zevia and that is on a rainy day. 


Water is a flushing out tool and helps you to clean your toxins within your body that you’re currently holding on and helps you releases it through using the restroom consistently. 


You can also put lemon in your water, which also helps clear your skin so it is killing two birds with one stone.


Walk 15k Steps Everyday


Now you need some movement. Walking is extremely easy and it is free-make sure to try to walk 10,000 steps in a day is the minimum suggestion. However, if you’re really looking for some change within yourself-you should really push for 15k steps a day which is 4 miles a day. 



Meditation + Affirmations Everyday


The power of meditation and affirmations is vital-meditation is easy and you can start at 5 minutes a day in comfy clothing even outside whereever you want to be and close your eyes and just empty your thoughts.


The next thing are affiramtions that you should write up in your journal that are aligned to the life you want.

Then you’re going to relax and let things go. Enjoy life listen to the birds- they love you <3
